Questions about custom setting

Hello

I have a loose pincess diamond which i want to set into a ring.

I really want to do a bezel setting, but i''m not sure if it would look nice... The only bezel setting that I have seen so far is the tiffany princess bezet.

Also, do i leave the diamond certificate with the jeweller? Or should i hang on to it?

Any help is appreciated

Hi Cindy,

If you search for Princess/bezel settings on here, you should come up with a few examples. And hang onto the grading report, you don't want that to get lost!

have you also seen semi bezels? those are beautiful as well. you just need to make a copy of your report for the jeweler just to verify they have the right diamond for setting. good luck, can''t wait to see what you choose

depends on many factors that can dictate the pricing. the type of metal, if there are sidestones in the design, if the ring is handmade or cast, a designer may or may not be more than custom too. You can email a few vendors for quotes to get a good ballpark figure for what you are wanting to have made.

Here are a few pictures of princess bezels... price will vary greatly depending on the nature of your project, details, metals, etc, I once had a quote to bezel my RB for $1000 in 18 yellow gold completely custom, so it really depends, but then my semi bezel,,, it was semi custom for only $375... but here are some pictures to give you some idea- (Not mine) .

Yeah, i checked with one jeweller and he said that some pieces were cast, but then he said that everything else was handmade???

He wants to charge me AUD$1000 for a simple solitaire. I thought it was a bit steep.
