Questions about Cathedral Settings

Does anyone know if the sides of a cathedral solitaire get caught on things if they aren't attached to the head? I am considering having a cathedral solitaire built with a peg head so that it can hold a larger stone in the future. A lot of times the sides are incorporated into the basket of the setting but in this case the sides would come up but not attach to any metal in the head of the setting.

I'm just trying to imagine if those open pieces of metal would catch on sweaters, in hair, etc. Also I'm not sure how much upgrade wiggle room there would be as it looks like the sides would almost touch the stone anyway. Wonder if it's safer to go with a more typical 6 prong setting as a temp setting.

This is not the ring I'm considering, but just for example.

They can catch on sweaters or other loose weave clothing.

Ditto what @Karl_K said. The cathedral buttresses are essentially prongs if not attached and just like a prong, will catch on clothes and HAIR if you are one who runs their hands in their hair.

That's what I figured. Thanks for the confirmation.
