Hey all, my boyfriend ordered the diamond for the setting we already have. The diamond is 1 carat to go into a .50 carat common prong eternity setting. My ring size is a 7.25-7.5 and I''m wondering, do you think the CS is too small and will look lost on my finger??

Only you can decide that but many people with fingers your size have diamonds even smaller than that...so I think it will be fine.

That''s like asking if chocolate or vanilla is the correct icecream to eat. Everyone has their own personal preference. that size is not too small for me, but you are the one wearing it! If it bothers you, you should bring it up before it''s too late. Another thing wanted to mention is that stones always look smaller loose than set, and their appearance can vary depending on the setting (high, low, bezel, prong, halo etc).

Oh I thought you were asking about a .5 carat stone. 1 carat is a very nice size.

I'm glad you mentioned that stones usually look smaller when they are loose. We looked at many 1 carat rings and I liked the size, but now when I see the stone alone, it seems kind of small. In a prong setting, would higher or lower setting make the stone look bigger?

I think it will look perfect

A higher setting will generally make a stone look bigger, but if you have it set too high you run the risk of knocking it and damaging the stone/setting.

1ct is a great size.
