hey ladies,
my SO and I were looking at rocks online. Here''s my question, have any of you purchased online? If we were to, and had the diamond sent to an appraiser, and from there a jeweler to have it mounted, how much additional cost can we except? I have really simple taste and only want a small white gold band, 4 prong mount. Here are the spec on the diamond.

Not answering for the Ladies,
but I would suggest a 6 prong setting for a rock over a carat.
You also have the one shop shopping option with online vendors here.

Hello! :)

Actually, I would say most PSers have bought their diamonds online, myself included.

As you''ve probably found it''s a great way to cherry-pick a top quality diamond, with the best possible cut.. and to save a whole load of money as well.

The extra costs of shipping & appraisal will be minimal compared to the savings you can make on such a stone. I actually had my diamond sent from the USA to the UK, and paid 17.5% extra in UK customs fees... and still saved money compared to buying a comparable diamond in a jewellery shop!

I''ll let the others give you ideas of the actual costs involved, as they''ll know better than I will. :)
