i absolutely love my wedding band. it's a perfect combo with my e-ring.

i've been wearing the size 6 ring since my may 2011 wedding. my ring size at the time was a 5.5-5.75 at the time and thought it would be perfect. but since then, i've lost some weight and my friends' size 3.5 ring tightly fit. i think my ring size is pretty close to 4.5-4.75 now.

that being said, how labor-intensive/expensive do you think it would be to have my ring resized down over a full ring size? is it even possible with a full eternity ring?

specs on my w-band:
2.11 tcw
10 pointers
white gold

thankss!!! :)

My suggestion would have been to put sizing beads in both rings so the diameters would have stayed the same. You'll probably have to have a new setting in order to get the eternity band sized down which will be costly. Where did you buy the eternity?

Your rings are beautiful, by the way!

thanks diamondseeker!

my rings are from Yekutiel at ID Jewelry. he's awesome :)

Yekutiel also recommended sizing beads, but I don't like how the ring is so far off my finger -- i prefer a more flush look. does that make sense? i'm having my solitaire reset also to work better with my w-band and when i do, i'm gonna have it sized down to a 5. i'm afraid if i resize my e-ring and just put sizing beads in my w-band it'll look funny b/c of the size disparity (e-ring 5, w-band 6).

am i being too picky?

I don't think you are being too picky and understand what you are wanting to do. I just don't think it would be possible to size your band down that much without messing it up. You could always ask ID. Like DS said, you could have it reset and maybe ID would work out something with you since you bought your original set from them.

The removal of a section about the size of 1 diamond will reduce the ring close to 1 size, maybe 3/4size to 1 size. A bit more reduction could be created by lining the inner edges with a slim piece of metal fitted and soldered in place that you wouldn't see or feel. It should not create a big problem to size the ring although it will take a good jeweler to do the job.

Well do let us know what happens. It will help us to know how you are able to reduce the size on a full eternity! And I would be the same way. I like my rings to be the same thickness off my finger. I only meant to use sizing beads if both rings could be done so they would stay the same diameter. The problem will be later in life if you need the band larger. But that is the chance we all take with eternities!

Good to know, i think having a good jeweler to do it is the key...

My local jeweler said that laser welders can be used to resize full eternities seamlessly.

i'm working with yekutiel and tami to re-set my wedding band. i dropped off my ring last week and it should be ready sometime this week. i'm super excited.

stay tuned for how it turned out and for more details. :)

soooooooooo. ID JEWELRY IS AMAZINGGGGG!!!!! :appl:

i was soooo impressed by how my wedding band turned out!!!

this is definitely the lowest set eternity band i've ever seen and all thanks to TAMI AND YEKUTIEL AT ID JEWELRY!! they totally put the ID in IDEAL! ;)) hehehehe.

they ended up taking out two diamonds from my band, resetting it in the normal shared prong setting then shaving the inside of the band as thin as possible. i was a little skeptical when Tami said that the last one they made was set as low as her ring but they definitely DID NOT DISAPPOINT. it sits so flush again my finger, it's even lower than my engagement ring setting and thankfully, now i will no longer have an issue of my w-band digging into my e-ring prongs. (you'll see where my band used to sit by were the indent is on my e-ring prong. i plan to redo my e-ring setting in the spring.)

well, without further ado, here are some pictures (see OP for before pics).

amazing!!!

you can really see the difference in height by these pictures. i think it's almost a 2mm difference in height between the old band and the new one. i'm AMAZED at the craftsmanship and the service at ID!! love them!!!

Wow, what a difference in height! The new and is gorgeous and looks just perfect with you e-ring. When you redo the setting are youkeeoing the same ring style?

thanks mrssalvo! i love my new and improved band! when i re-set my e-ring, i will keep it a 6-prong solitaire b/c i want to stay true to the style my husband bought for me. but will probably go with a vatche setting. (i loveeee how his setting hug the diamond). I actually just saw Vatche Felicity (http://www.whiteflash.com/engagement-rings/solitaire/felicity-solitaire-engagement-ring-by-vatche-1613.htm) at ID and loveddd it! :naughty:

I have a few months to decide, so we'll see...but yes, it'll be a 6-prong solitaire (...most likely. hehe :Up_to_something:).

WOW. WOW. WOW. Amazing. And FAST?!

YES!!! incredibly fast! i dropped it off on Friday around noon and it was done this morning around 1030am!!! AMAZING! :appl: :appl:

That is amazing - what a great job they did! So happy that you were able to accomplish this - great learning experience for many PSers too!

Great job they did Dec2410! I love how low they made the setting - hopefully it wont eat your ering setting. Great news about the weight loss too - congratulations :-)

dec2410 - I'm thinking of getting a very similar eternity ring from IDJ but my biggest concern is the height. Is there any chance you would be willing to measure the height of your rings (in mm) and let me know what it is? Thank you so so much!

Your ring is breathtaking and I love your set!
