Question: price difference for item 18k vs platinum

i am interested in an 18k bracelet but am considering inquiring about having it remade in platinum (dont know if it can even be done)...........what is the price differential?

Platinum will be close to double the cost of 18K gold. Platinum will weigh a lot more and also is just more than twice the price per ounce of 18K.

the jeweler called me and said the 18k was more durable for daily wear with all the pave? True??????? (I was willing to pay for the platinum............)
