Question on the new ring

I believe its less an issue of color and more so an issue of comparison between itty bitty stones and larger centers.


Pave has such tiny facets, it just throws off white light.

Your center stone is larger. Its more effected by the different lighting and surroundings.

You might be in spotlighting that makes the stonenappear darker, that's just what that kind of lighting does.

Or maybe your wearing a darker shirt. Your center stone will pick that up. Or the colors of the room, what have you.

Regardless of color your center stone that size won't look like your pave does in all situations. Are you unhappy? Did you look at rings in person before buying this?
 
First off - beautiful ring - congratulations! Secondly - light play reads differently to the eye in larger vs smaller stones & Larger stones reflect more ambient colors, such as your clothing or walls. I think it looks spectacular.
 
The tiny facets of the melee stones in the halo just handle light differently than the large facets of the center.

As you see it in different lighting situations you will see that sometimes everything is bright. Sometimes, as you noticed, there is some small amount of darkness.

It happens with my halo ring as well and I have an F.

The ring is stunning though, fantastic choice.
 
I love your ring. You may have changed my mind from looking for cushion cut to a round cut instead =) I don't see the color difference from the pic... what size ring do you wear?

This is a size 4 but it's a bit loose. Will it be better after adding a wedding band?

Probably. But it depends what size your w band will be too. also is it cold where you are?if so it'll probably for better in the summer too.

however if it is falling off now you should resize.
 
Congrats! I have the same exact ring /carat size and it's lovely! From your pic, it does appear loose from the slant of the ring between your fingers.I definitely recommend you resizing it down. Mine was a 4.5 and I ended up sizing to a 4. It's a little loose (spins but doesn't go past my knuckle when I try to shake it off) when I'm cold but snug in warmer temps. Hope this helps.

Which setting is it? Did you get from JA, too? Were you happy with the ring quality? I think it looks beautiful! I'm getting a jA soon so I'm so anxious! :loopy:

Yes. the setting is from JA too. I'm happy with the purchase but I'm not an expert and I'm not very picky. congrats and good luck with your purchase!
 
Thx, Nov2014! I debated about this setting, too. It's really beautiful. It's tough to choose as it's something you wear and really look at everyday. I think you choose really well! I plan to post mine when I get it.
