Ok I received my diamond today. Gorgeous diamond from JA. The thing I was wondering is does GIA list all inclusions on the report or just the one that made it a SI1? So if it didnt have the crystal it may have been a VS2. Just asking because I am not sure the other inclusions on it would have made it an SI1. It is totally eyeclean and sparkles great but I only have a 20x loupe at home no ten and my understanding is GIA goes to 10 times magnification. So could it have scored a VS2 if not for the crystal. Thanks, mary

ITit scored si1 because that's what the grader graded it. It is probably gorgous and beyong eye clean as GIA is strict....could a wooda who can really say it something was different it would have scored higher. Do you love it...enjoy and know you have a GIA certified diamond.

The primary inclusion certainly may be the crystal...and the primary inclusion is generally listed first on the clarity plot key. But I am fairly sure the gemologist takes into consideration all the inclusions viewed at 10x.

It could have scored internally flawless if the inclusions weren't there, but since they are, it was graded SI1. ;))

If the crystal is the only SI1 inclusion and the others are VS2 or higher, it would make sense that GIA only listed the grade setter. They grade so many stones that this is a way too streamline production. I would recommend getting a 10x loupe to see the stone as the grader would.
