Hi everyone

My SO and I have decided on a 1.5 ct. pear center stone with a 2mm pave setting with diamonds around the band. Everytime we would go try on rings the setting would always be too large on me since I have a size 4 finger. So I was always being told that the ring, once made to my size will look different. My question is how different? and is this size carat a nice size for my ring size? Most of my friends have a 2 ct. and I think it looks big, and they have larger finger sizes. So will my finished ring look that much different from when I tried on the setting that was not in my size? I hope this makes sense?? If anyone who has a size 4 ring size who has 1.5 ct. pear could you also please post pics?? Thanks!

Hi Welcome to Pricescope!

here are a few links https://www.pricescope.com/community/threads/carat-weight-size.26668/ I think a 1.5 would look great on size 4 finger!
https://www.pricescope.com/community/threads/need-help-finding-the-chart-with-ring-sizes-and-percentage-of-finger-coverage.64644/ finger coverage
and this one a comparison of diamonds by carat weight http://images.amazon.com/media/i3d/01/actual-diamond-size.pdf

1.5 pear will look lovely on you, substantial and elegant! Skip has linked some great threads which will give you some idea, but you will get the best idea when your new ring is done and on your finger. Pears can vary in looks and shape which can also influence how large the diamond looks.

The cut of the pear is Excellent and the length to ratio is about 1.75...thank u for your responses so far!

I think a 1.5 pear shaped stone will look beautiful on your finger size, no worries there IMO!

i agree with everyone else, once the ring is made to your size, i''m sure it''ll look great, i can''t wait to see photos, i love pears!
