Deb, that brought tears to my eyes, thank you so much! But I''m not so sure about being "well-endowed."Date: 3/19/2010 7:27:47 PM

Michelle,
I really had no idea you had so many sapphire pieces...and they are all huge and exquisite! You have wonderful taste and have, indeed, built a collection that anyone would envy. (I am dying of envy here.) The only thing that makes it bearable to see someone else be able to afford such beautiful gems when I can''t is knowing what a kind and thoughtful woman you are! I couldn''t endure seeing a lesser woman be so so well-endowed!

wow. when you see ''em all together it''s just - wow!
michelle (and this is pure idle curiosity so feel free not to answer) - what do you wear as an engagement and wedding ring? you and i have been married a similar amount of time so were probably buying rings in the same sort of period, fashion-wise. did you have a sapphire? i''d love to see!
your collection is a jaw dropper and your latest ring is just....i dunno lady, there''s just no words. it makes me believe in God - so much creative perfection. there. that''s all i can think of.
thank you for sharing your things with us - it''s a privilege to see them.

You guys really are trying to make me cry now aren''t you.Kareyn I don''t know what to say, you are such a sweetheart! XOXOXOXOXOX I love sapphires, always have. There''s just something about blue and especially cobalt blue that calls to me. I also collect cobalt blue glass, go figure. When I step into a room that is blue or has a lot of blue items it just naturally relaxes me. I can feel myself let go. I don''t know why that is but it just is.![]()
When we first started out as a married couple we had no money but my hubby knowing I loved blue and jewelry bought me sapphire pieces that eventually turned into a suite. I wore them all the time. I loved the designs and the fact that he picked them. Unfortunately they were mall sapphires and you guessed it, pretty black. I didn''t really know any better until I joined PS and much to my chagrin found out that my beloved sapphires were bad.We explored changing out the sapphires to better quality but my jeweler said it just wasn''t woth the cost and effort so hubby promised that one day he would get me replacement pieces. That next Christmas he had my pendant made and we were off from there. Now my suite is once again complete. I guess I must thank PS but boy it sure was less costly when I didn''t know any better lol!![]()
After all of the above, believe it or not I''ve never had a sapphire ER. I currently wear my FLY diamond ring and a band that coordinates. This set never comes off. I started off with a .30ct round that was hubby''s grandmother''s stone. When we got engaged he told me that some day he would replace it with a larger stone and for our 15th anniversay he bought me a 1.56 ct princess J SI1 and yes, it was from the mall. No cert so you can guess what it really was like lol. It was so deep that it really only faced up as a 1.25 and the color eventually turned out to be a low K/high L. I don''t even want to get into the clarity. For our 25th anniv he was going to replace it with a 2 carat round and we even went as far as having some stones brought in to look at but I couldn''t do it. We had 2 kids in college at the time and I couldn''t see spending that much so I said no, I''ll just keep what I have and reset it into another setting. Two years later we saw my current ring at my jewelers. I loved it but never ever thought it would be mine. One day he came back from one of his overseas trips and said I''ve been thinking about that ring and I think we should get it. I was floored and I wasn''t about to say no a second time.
Now aren''t you sorry you asked!!!![]()
