Hello Catmom, is there somewhere where we can see all of your sapphire pieces together? I''d like that! Thanks!

Well thanks for asking Imdanny! I''m ashamed to say I''m a bad PSer and haven''t taken any pictures of them all together yet. One of these days I''ll have to do that. Here''s a few separate ones though. Here''s my bracelet, pendant and color change sapphire ring.

You really do have the most enviable collection!

I love your sapphires, I''d never get tired of looking at your pics. Bring em on!

Catmom, I''ve always loved your collection, especially your color change sapphire.

Sapphire my birthstone. I''ve always liked it. Your collection is outstanding! Thanks for sharing it!

You have the most amazing collection.

Thank you Mrs Mitchell, that''s so kind of you to say!!

ZoeB, I love the color change too. It''s so fun to play with.

You''re so lucky to have sapphires as your birthstone Imdanny! I wish I did as they are my favorite stone. Emeralds are my birthstone and I really don''t like them. I''d much rather have a tsavorite.

Thank you oddoneout!

It''s very sunny here today so I tried to get a shot of them all together but it''s not so good a shot. I''ll have to keep trying and get a better one.

So glad I saw this, Fantastic!!!!

Thanks kenny and cnspotts!!

Michelle,

I really had no idea you had so many sapphire pieces...and they are all huge and exquisite! You have wonderful taste and have, indeed, built a collection that anyone would envy. (I am dying of envy here.) The only thing that makes it bearable to see someone else be able to afford such beautiful gems when I can''t is knowing what a kind and thoughtful woman you are! I couldn''t endure seeing a lesser woman be so so well-endowed!

Deb, that brought tears to my eyes, thank you so much! But I''m not so sure about being "well-endowed."

Thank you for saying that Maevie!

Lisa, you are a fine one to talk! I have always been envious of your most amazing ring collection!

wow. when you see 'em all together it's just - wow!

michelle (and this is pure idle curiosity so feel free not to answer) - what do you wear as an engagement and wedding ring? you and i have been married a similar amount of time so were probably buying rings in the same sort of period, fashion-wise. did you have a sapphire? i'd love to see!

your collection is a jaw dropper and your latest ring is just....i dunno lady, there's just no words. it makes me believe in God - so much creative perfection. there. that's all i can think of.

thank you for sharing your things with us - it's a privilege to see them.

You guys really are trying to make me cry now aren''t you.

Kareyn I don''t know what to say, you are such a sweetheart! XOXOXOXOXOX I love sapphires, always have. There''s just something about blue and especially cobalt blue that calls to me. I also collect cobalt blue glass, go figure. When I step into a room that is blue or has a lot of blue items it just naturally relaxes me. I can feel myself let go. I don''t know why that is but it just is.

When we first started out as a married couple we had no money but my hubby knowing I loved blue and jewelry bought me sapphire pieces that eventually turned into a suite. I wore them all the time. I loved the designs and the fact that he picked them. Unfortunately they were mall sapphires and you guessed it, pretty black. I didn''t really know any better until I joined PS and much to my chagrin found out that my beloved sapphires were bad.
14.gif
We explored changing out the sapphires to better quality but my jeweler said it just wasn''t woth the cost and effort so hubby promised that one day he would get me replacement pieces. That next Christmas he had my pendant made and we were off from there. Now my suite is once again complete. I guess I must thank PS but boy it sure was less costly when I didn''t know any better lol!

After all of the above, believe it or not I''ve never had a sapphire ER. I currently wear my FLY diamond ring and a band that coordinates. This set never comes off. I started off with a .30ct round that was hubby''s grandmother''s stone. When we got engaged he told me that some day he would replace it with a larger stone and for our 15th anniversay he bought me a 1.56 ct princess J SI1 and yes, it was from the mall. No cert so you can guess what it really was like lol. It was so deep that it really only faced up as a 1.25 and the color eventually turned out to be a low K/high L. I don''t even want to get into the clarity. For our 25th anniv he was going to replace it with a 2 carat round and we even went as far as having some stones brought in to look at but I couldn''t do it. We had 2 kids in college at the time and I couldn''t see spending that much so I said no, I''ll just keep what I have and reset it into another setting. Two years later we saw my current ring at my jewelers. I loved it but never ever thought it would be mine. One day he came back from one of his overseas trips and said I''ve been thinking about that ring and I think we should get it. I was floored and I wasn''t about to say no a second time.

Now aren''t you sorry you asked!!!

nope - not sorry at all :)

i love cobalt blue too and...brace yourself - collect glass! for years it was predomonantly blue, tho i''ve branched out in recent decades (i wish i could just say ''years'', but in the interests of accuracy...
20.gif
)

my original e-ring was my deceased mother''s .25 diamond - so it sounds like we were indeed in the same ''realm'' for our e-rings. but what is a FLY ring? does this have a thread anywhere?

your husband sounds like such a nice man - kind of reminded me of tim a bit :) my favorite thing in the entire world is swimming in the ocean. anyone who knows me much knows this about me. someone once asked me why i liked it so much, and all i could say was that, to me, "it feels like disappearing into the eye of God." michelle, your new ring reminds me of that - it hits that exact same place in my brain. one day i''d like to get a sapphire ring and Losty and Ellen were helping me on this. i pulled back after a while when i realized i wanted to buy a more significant stone than i had originally thought (those ladies know their stuff, but they''re big time enablers!), but one day....

thank you again for sharing your things,

LOL Kareyn, I think we must be long lost twins. I''d love to see your glass collection! FLY is Fancy Light Yellow diamond and that is the ring I wear as my ER [see below].

I sincerely hope that you someday find your perfect blue sapphire and it brings you much pleasure. You certainly deserve it!

cmsflyring0030.jpg

Fancy Light Yellow - d'oh - of course! sorry - i was thinking it was a brand! like - 'FLY Rings and Jewelry'....

(laughing at myself here)

i LOVE your yellow diamond ring.

i actually love emeralds - love the color green, in fact. Cherrypicked.com have a beautiful $55k emerald i've coveted for some time. it's untreated and free of visible inclusions. i've never seen anything like it.

in the meantime, i have long coveted *this* 5 stone antique ring....

emerald ring 1a.jpg

and one more.

is there anything more glorious in life than a 5 stone antique colored gem ring???

this sort of ring is my absolute Waterloo....

i could totally imagine you with something similar in sapphires - really beautiful stones in a 5 stone with antique scroll work would be just amazing....

emerald ring 2a.jpg

I could totally rock a sapphire ring like that!!
9.gif

you know we should be having this conversation somewhere over coffee, don''t you?

pen and paper in hand, making sketches, looking up all the online gem suppliers and setting designers...

i would LOVE to spend a sunday morning chatting to you about jewelry, michelle!

altho...i suppose...

in one way, i am! i''m sitting here with my puter, and my starbucks coffee, chatting to you about jewelry. shall we order a pastry?

:)

(and i agree, you would TOTALLY rock a 5 stone sapphire ring!)

Oh now wouldn''t that be fun!! I would love to be able to do that whether it be coffee or lunch. Although I think we might be very dangerous together.
