Hi All,

Just a quick question…..Does anyone know where you can upgrade your ring if you haven't actually purchased it through a particular store. I have a gorgeous ring I purchased through JBeG. I am familiar with their upgrade policy but having our dollar so weak at the moment I don't think it is worth upgrading with JBeG (I am not in great rush). Just more curious who does this in Oz. I am in Brisbane but do travel to Sydney and Melbourne.

Thanks in advance.

Most jewelry stores will consider a trade in howevver that being saaid he won't be that great. Why don't you try to sell it first on loupe troope or ps preloved. I know that's not an easy idea but trade in is tricky. I traded in my studs for new ones and I didn't get a third of what I paid for it.

Hi Bibs

I was wondering what the JBEG ring you are selling is? Thanks, Kirsty

I know of one PSer who is selling their ring (Leon halo with an OMC that is stunning) so if that's up your ally and its bigger you might try and sell locally and pick up that one.

Btw JBEG is no more-it's not JBG and I forget Erica's new website. They will still honor the upgrade policies at either place though :)

Edit: I see you already are aware of this ring FS. Sorry!

Agreed, you would be better off selling it privately and then buying your new piece outright if you don't want to do a trade up with JbEG (or JbG or Love Affair Diamonds).

Also, if your stone is antique, you would have to go through an antique store as most retail stores don't understand antique stones. I get everything from "oh, that's a dirty CZ" to "is that a white topaz?" in most jewellery stores here...

:?

I live in Brisbane as well shops here will give you a low trade on anything you take to them, especially an Antique diamond as most of them do not understand what they are looking at. You will get more value for money selling it privately on Loupetroop or DiamondBistro and if you have no luck sending it back to JBEG despite our low dollar and the shipping costs.

Ken Penfold in the city occasionally buys Antique diamonds, he might trade but his stock is limited.

what grade and cut is the diamond I'm in australia and maybe interested.

I'd like to see the ring too :)
