Ok, so basically my girlfriend and I have been pre engaged or whatever you call it, and we''re looking at rings. After doing some searching, and finding what she liked, mostly pave, especially with a pave around the diamond itself, we landed at James Allen.
After investigating and finding the site to be reputed (feel free to correct me on this) I''ve narrowed down what I want to get.
This is the setting I''m looking at: http://www.jamesallen.com/engagement-rings/pave/ring/item_412-1991.asp
I''m thinking of getting around a .8 ct diamond, but I''m not worried as much about that.

I brought a picture of this setting design to a jeweler that I met during my research, and he showed me how the diamonds were set high on the metal, which he said made them likely to fall out. I wonder if anyone knows if this would be an issue?
Has anyone ordered this setting or a similar one from James Allen, or seen one in person?
How is the quality of the craftsmanship?
Did anyone get their ring appraised after recieving it from James Allen, and was the result satisfactory?

Also, it says this setting is by Danhov, yet the ring is not located in the Danhov collection on the James Allen site, nor can it be found on the Danhov site. Does anyone know if this is a mistake?

I understand James Allen has a return policy, but obviously, I want to make the right decision in the first place if possible.

One final question, if you had 6 thousand dollars cash to spend on a ring, and you wanted a pave to enhance the diamond, what ring would you get?

Here is a photo of the ring i was referring to in my post, to save the trouble of following the link.
