Okay....so I have a fascination with rose cut diamonds. And pink/pinkish diamonds. And pink rose cut diamonds, which I hardly ever see...

I found one. I thought that rose cuts would always have a greater spread that other cuts of = carat weight, owing to the flatness. The diamond I found is .82 ct. These are the specs offered:

Natural Diamond

Shape: OVAL-ROSE Cut

Diamond Weight: 0.82 ct

Size : 6.72 mm x 5.11 mm x 3.01mm

Clearity: VVS

Color: Natural Fancy PINKISH BROWN

Cut: Very Good

I did a search on ovals here at PS and found that the measurments were 7.3 x 4.98 x 3.25 for a .82. Visually, how much difference is there in the appearance of the rose cut vs the regular oval? Would it even be perceptible?

post script - I am not buying this stone.

N this is not a Rose cut - it is an oval variant.
It has a spread about 10% less than a well cut round with a thin girdle - about a 0.75ct stone.

It is a brown stone with pink overtones by the verbal description - so it is not primarily pink.

But VVS is rare in such stones.
Also is it a graded stone with 3rd party report?

Garry, thanks very much for clarification. I guess I like brownish-pink color, as well!

It''s one of the many diamonds I''ve seen for sale from India, so perhaps it''s exempt from certain description guidelines. Or maybe "clearity" isn''t "clarity" at all, but some other "C".

Thanks again!
