I figured someone here would know, otherwise I will ask Caysie. Anyone know offhand what her platinum uses as a base metal?

I do not react to her platinum, so I thought I’d keep a list now of what I react and don’t react to.

Thanks.

Can you see a marking inside your ring, by chance? Like PLAT 95 or PLAT900.

Most of mine are Plat 900 which is 90% plat and 10% iridium. But it seems like one thing was not.

Odds are the non-platinum 10% of the ring marked PT 900 is iridium. But there are 90% platinum alloys with, e.g., palladium constituting the remaining 10%. Because of your sensitivities, I would ask CvB herself what that particular ring is made of; hopefully, she can find out the info for you from the bench who fabricated the ring even if she doesn't have it noted in her files pertaining to your ring.

For the record, Brian Gavin’s platinum is 95% Platinum, 5% Ruthenium

I once reacted to a pair of platinum stud earrings from Mondera, but that was so long ago that I bought and wore them— they probably were less platinum and more something else

Caysie's is 90% platinum, 10% iridium. It's pretty rare for someone to react to most platinum.

I think my rings are the 90/10 but it seems like my new pendant might be the 95/5, but I sent it back to change the chain so I can't check it now.

HPD is 85/15 so I’ll ask them later. I’m making a list of metals I react and don’t react to, darn, I’m getting old :lol-2:

I have never heard of 85/15. I wonder why they would even do that?
