The light performance and cut grade is only on the Platinum report for princess. This one is a Gold report, I believe.Date: 7/31/2009 7:12:39 PM

Curious why my AGS cert doesn't have a cut grade listed, anyone know?
And also, is the light performance grading only done on ideals?
Here is the link to my diamond...
THanks!
This stone could still be an ideal cut, but the report that was chosen for it doesn''t show cuts for Princess stones.Date: 7/31/2009 10:03:22 PM

Oh, ok, thanks!!
So if it is a Gold report, that would mean that it is an excellent cut as opposed to an ideal, Plat report?
I still don''t get why it wouldn''t list CUT GRADE![]()
Anyone know why that would be?
For some reason, whatever doesn't make WF's ACA line doesn't get a cut grade report, even if it would make an AGS0. That's just the way WF works. Or at least, used to.Date: 7/31/2009 10:33:30 PM

I don't like it either.
I think there should be one report with all the info.
Omitting cut info make me wonder what's wrong with the cut.
If the cut was good and would have gotten AGS 0 I'll bet they would have gotten the report that includes that.
Imagine if they had reports the omitted color. (becauase they vendor knew it was a low color)
I don't like it.
You are right about the beauty and not having to be "ideal" jet2ks. I am embarrassed to say that I didn''t check this out before my purchase. I got so excited about the look of the stone and it''s performance on ASET, etc. And in person, it did not disappoint!!Date: 7/31/2009 11:07:49 PM

The cutters and vendors have a very good idea before sending a diamond in what kind of grade it will get. The Platinum report costs more, so is only requested on those diamonds that are worth more. For whatever reason, this stone wouldn''t have received an AGS0 grade, so rather than spend the extra to get a diamond rated a 1 or 2 on cut grade, they just went with the less costly report.
In some ways, I wish that all the reports were more similar, but on the other hand, having a less costly report keeps the cost of a diamond down slightly, and I''m all for that, as well. Just because it doesn''t fall in the parameters for Ideal doesn''t mean it isn''t a beautiful stone. Since AGS is the only lab grading cut for princess, you really don''t lose anything here vs. getting a GIA report. (and GIA does the same on rounds with the Dossier vs. the full report similar to Gold & Platinum w/ AGS)
how do you do these calculations? I can''t believe it would only be a g/vg cutDate: 7/31/2009 11:23:48 PM

If you do the calculations and the math your stone would be considered a good to very good''borderline'' cut. If GIA rated it ot would be good if a regular lab rated it it would be very good. I hope I was able to help you out.
What are you talking about? GIA and other labs do not grade cut for princess--AGS is the only one.Date: 7/31/2009 11:23:48 PM
