I''m in the process of purchasing this diamond from GOG:

http://www.goodoldgold.com/diamond/3394/

I''m planning on setting it in an 18K white gold setting with baguettes and princess cuts in channels on the sides. I''m just wondering how noticeable the yellow of an "I" color grade would be when set against a white gold setting with smaller stones that are possibly more colorless?

Also, what do you all think about the above diamond?

P.S. This forum rocks, pardon the pun.

You should not notice any yellow in an I; I had an I round brilliant set in white gold and did not think it was yellow at all. Welcome to Pricescope by the way!!

eta: I see you are looking at a Princess. The princess looks nice from the pics, hopefully princess experts will chime in.

I don''t know a lot about princesses, but this looks like an overall very nice one. An I colored princess will not look yellow and will be a "white" diamond. However, you might see what is better described as "warmth" from the side of the stone. It will be unnoticeable to most casual observers, but color sensitive people may be able to notice it and it will be noticeable to most sitting on it''s side on a white piece of paper.

Wow, what an amazing coincidence. I almost purchased that stone. I ended up selecting a slightly larger stone, and J in color. Even at J it faces up white, so the I should be good. GoG assured me both were absolutely amazing. Go for it!!!!

I would reccomend putting it next to stones the same colour rather than going truly colourless on your sidestones.
Someone who is ultra sensitive to colour (I am) will notice the difference.
The diamond looks stunning!

I have an H colored stone, just a step away, and don''t notice any color on it on a day to day basis. That being said, I''m also not extremely color sensitive.

I guess to reiterate what others have said, to an everyday onlooker, it''ll appear white. :)

My I color AGS000 (ACA from Whiteflash) princess faces up white, and I have F/G color surprise diamonds in my platinum setting. I recently compared it side by side with my friend''s F princess (not as well cut as mine, but still pretty). I couldn''t tell the difference. I''m not all that color-sensitive, but I have no regrets with buying an I. It looks like a gorgeous stone, and at 0.99 might avoid the 1ct price jump. Nice find!

I have a J colored stone in an eternity setting with G melee. I don''t notice a difference.
Good luck!

Lol stonehunter, I was looking at bigger stones with J color as well, no doubt we were looking at the same ones at the same time.

Anyway, glad we were both able to get the ones we wanted!

Thanks to everyone for their input!

No problem...please post pics when it''s done! We love our eye candy around here.

I have a J color round Ideal AGS000 and there''s no tint at all!
