Ok I have been looking at some websites and it seems that many (not all) of fancy coloured diaonds do not have clarity grades located on the GIA certs....is that normal?

It is very common - clarity does not play a huge role in fancy colour pricing, but if a diamond is high colour the submitter almost always asks for a full report.

Generally no clarity report means SI to imperfect

I agree with Garry as to why many colored diamonds are not certed
1- low clarity
also consider these reasons...
2-makes that are incorperated to retain weight
3-possibility of enhancements
4-cert may show that diamond is not a true fancy on the G.I.A. color scale.
