I hope I can ask this without coming off racist in any way, I''m genuinely just curious.
My dh and I have been living in southeast virginia for the past 6 months. We are both Catholic, but due to the fact that my son was born right after we moved here, we haven''t gone to church that often. We recently started being able to go again, so we''ve been trying to find a church. Catholic churches are definitely in the minority here, but we did find one not too far away. I''ve only gone to this one twice now, but when I was there, I happened to notice that about 3/4 of the congregation was of Asian descent.
This really surprised me because this area overall is not heavily Asian, and historically I''ve never heard of a reason that Asians would end up Catholic (at least not more so than any other Western religion). So now I''m wondering if this is just a regional thing, or maybe even just specific to this particular church, or if there''s a reason that I''m missing to have such a high population of Catholic Asians in this area.
