Question about engagement and wedding rings

FI and I picked out our bands about a week or so ago. I chose the one that was made to fit right up against my engagement ring. I plan to have them soddered together because with the design, they really need to be or they won''t fit together as well and will be spinning and getting out of place. Now the decision I have to make is this: do I get the rings soddered together BEFORE the wedding and then not wear my engagement ring for a week or so before the wedding or do I wait until after the honeymoon to have them soddered together?

I say after. Personally, I''d feel very uncomfortable going one week without my e-ring - especially the week before our wedding!

I know a few women who chose to have them soldered together before the wedding so that the entire ring set could be put on their finger at the wedding. You are going to have to "go without" the rings at some point for a few days, and some people prefer it beforehand so they don't have to also go without their wedding band. The bonus is then they also generally the e-ring is also polished up and cleaned at the same time!

Others wait until after and may wear a small plain band while the rings are both away.

I did not have an e-ring before we got married, so I come from the perspective perhaps of thinking a week without it beforehand is not a big deal - you are still engaged even without the ring on (just as you are just as married without the wedding band on afterward - so it is all about your preference!)

I''d wait. Are you going on honeymoon right after? If you end up having to wear it a week or 2 unsoldered, it''ll be a pain, but you''ll be all the more appreciative of how nice they look after being soldered when you do get it done.
