Question about diamond/setting

I bought a tacori ht2258

and have the diamond.(princess) I out the diamond in the ring to see what it would look like and I dropped it it with the corners facing up and to the side (like a diamond shaoe) and kind of liked it. The jeweler said they could put the diamond like this for me, but would have ot move the prongs. ANy opinions on the? Anyone thing that this would be kind newt/different looking?

NOOOOOOOO!!!! Don''t do it!!1 That''s a basket setting -- moving the prongs would be a NIGHTMARE! And it would look "different" all right ... not "better" just kinda weird. (JMHO).

FWIW -- it would be MUCH more likely to hit against stuff & catch on stuff & generally make the whole stone/ring more vulnerable to damage & difficult to wear.

Besides what was already mentioned, the side stones were made for all three princess stones to be aligned together having 3 squares in a row... rotating the center to a N-E-S-W diamond would look weird with the princess side stones remaining as they are.

I would not mess with your beautiful (and expensive) setting. Besides setting a PR on point is more trendy/modern and would not look right with that setting IMHO.

That setting is GORGEOUS! Do not alter it! The stone needs to go in the correct way.

One more screaming NOOOOO! Don''t do it! I can pretty much guarantee you that your future fiancee will HATE that. Not to mention it would completely ruin that gorgeous and expensive setting. So please tell us you won''t do it! Promise?

I did it............ Changed the prongs so that the diamond fits in different. I am not sure that I like it, but my gf wanted it taht way...................... UGH! I spent so much time picking out this ring and diamond and now I feel like I made a huge mistake! It was not my choice though. If I would have known that the jeweler was going to move the prongs I would have NEVER done it! It''s done though and she has had tons of compliments on the way the diamond is........... So I will try and get some pics and see what you all think. I guess I am not liking it because I have spent sooooooooooooo much time on this ring that I think I should have left it alone.
