Ok, so I''ve heard that Brian Gavin is top notch and his diamonds and prices are comparable to that of whiteflash. The only problem is that he doesn''t have his stock up on his site yet. I''d like to get some general ideas of what I could get but we''re about a month or 2 out from purchasing. Would it be considered bothersome if I sent him an email listing what I want and what my budget is even though we''re not ready to buy yet? I don''t want them to think they''re wasting their time on something that won''t be purchased for a while. And does anyone know what his prices are like on settings? The setting I''m in love with is the WF three row domed pave. I''m wondering if it would be more expensive for him to recreate and if I should just get it from WF.

Setting:

Drop them an email. Lesley would be happy to answer your questions.
Just be up front on the time line.

Thanks Karl! That sure was fast!

Your welcome

I am presently working with Brian and Lesley on a custom ring setting (I bought the stone from them as well) and diamond studs. They are wonderful to work with and their pricing is very good! I peppered Lesley with questions before making any purchases and she was very patient and always got back with me. I liked that Brian wanted to discuss personally with me what I was looking for in the ring even though I had sent emails and pictures. You can get an idea of what their pricing is like by going to www.brianthecutter.com and scrolling through the blog. They have a section with prices and certificates midway through their blog.

Bought center stone of diamond stud earrings from Lesley, couldn''t be happier.

I would definitely get in touch with Lesley. She is a lovely lady. She will be able to give you an idea of what you can get for your budget.

I recently bought a 5 stone band from BGD and the whole experience was perfect. I am now starting another project with them.

Yeah just send them an email. I think some of the stones are posted on his blog too, although not the full stock.

I''m tinkering around with a recut project and Lesley has always been quick, responsive and pleasant in answering all my questions. My experience exchanging emails with her has been nothing but positive.

don''t worry between now and when you are ready, time will fly, I bought some bezel studs, love them, fantastic prices and impeccable craftsmanship. I am also in the process of another project that might take a few months, since I''m so indecisive, and Lesley have been patient and very pleasant in waiting for my final decision.

Uh yea, because Brian & Lesley are the original people who started White Flash back in the day when "we" (Nice Ice, WF, GOG, Wink Jones) blazed the trail for selling diamonds on the internet. Until January of this year, Brian was not only the VP of White Flash, but he was the person in charge of overseeing all the diamond production contracted for the company - so I think it''s safe to say that his diamonds will be comparable to those offered by White Flash

Working with PSers is a blessing and a curse. We may buy a lot, but we are the most annoyingly picky group! They really earn their money when I work with them.

Thanks for all of the responses! I emailed them last night telling them what I was looking for and what the budget is and woke up this morning to a reply in my inbox. I''ve already sent her 3 more lol. Very quick responses and very sweet. They also carry the setting that I''m dead set on and it''s even a little cheaper. She sent me info on a couple of stones that they''ll be receiving back from the AGS in the next week and she said she''d send the reports then. Now, waiting is the hard part.

I can''t wait til I have a reason to go through BGD. I have one ACA and want more!!

I''m afraid this site has ruined me. Now I''ll forever be a diamond snob. lol But at least that''s a good thing haha! The other day I was looking at a friends ring and caught myself turning it to the side so I could get a good look at the color

So true. I have like 10 projects on the (far) back burner. Got vet bills, car bills, medical bills etc to take care of... but man I''m squirreling what I can away for the bling projects one at a time. Starting wtih my BGD bezel studs. That is, if I don''t get way laid by some stackers Leslie is pricing out for me (i''m so bad).

I would call Lesley right away. Sometimes it may take awhile to source the stone you want. I just got a beautiful ring from them but the process took a full
2 months. It is definitely worth every minute that you wait for it.
