Hello Everyone,
I have heard that this is the place where diamond experts are and are willing to give advice to us novices
Thanks in advance for any guidance you can give.
I hope I am posting in the right area. I have located a diamond I am interested in and wanted to see if it is really as good as I think it is before purchasing. Here are the details of the stone:
1.14 Round brilliant
F VVS2
EX Polish
EX Symmetry
EX Cut
57% Table
60.3% Depth
34 Crown
40.8 Pavilion
Medium Faceted Girdle
No Fl. No Culet
6.76x6.78x4.08
What would a good price be for this diamond?
Will it be brilliant, fiery and such?
Another question I have is that I want to get a temporary white gold 6 prong solitaire 2mm with plat. prongs just until I can find a more elaborate plat. setting that I really love. I haven't really seen any that screams "this is the ONE". The cost is under 400 for the temporary WG setting. I don't want to be stuck with the setting in a year or so. Could I pass it down to say a friend or family member to set another diamond in when it is their turn to get married? I guess my question is, after a setting is made to fit my diamonds dimensions will it be useless for any other diamond in the future? If it can be used again, (with a diamond that is say 1ct)will it have to have new prongs put in or major work in order to reuse it? Just wondering what others do with their plain settings when they change to another that they really like later on.
Does anyone have an idea of how much independent appraisal run on something like this and how long an appraisal takes?
Thanks again I will keep studying the information out there and on this site. Great info!
