Hello everyone,

I thought I would start a new thread, since my original title referred to a stone that was thrown out awhile ago.

The link below is for the stone I am thinking of buying within the next 24-48 hrs.

What I would love hear some input on, is first the quality of the diamond. This is a 1.50ct F color diamond, and is rated as a H&A AGS000. I was told by a representative at James Allen that his is an "eye-clean" SI1. The I-S image seemed kind of light, so I ran the numbers through the HCA to be safe, and the measurements netted a 1.2.

Secondly, what do you guys feel about this diamond in relation to its PS price of $12k? I tried to find comparabbles on WF, and GOG, but there was nothing near this price for an AGS000. Cut is my number 1 priority after my 1.50ct requirement, and I am very inclined to the strict cut parameters of AGS. SO in short, am I getting a good deal? I will be taking this to an independent appraiser once received either way.

I would love to hear the opinion of the PS experts, as this would provide great piece of mind as a first-time-novice-diamond-buying person.

Thanks all in advance for taking the time to stop by drop your thoughts.

Looks like a beautiful diamond, a couple of the hearts are very slightly uneven but its still a great stone. The diamond has a grade setting cloud, just check it isn't impacting performance by asking JA.

Ditto Lorelei. The IS being "light" is just in the set-up, you can''t compare the overall color of one IS image to another. What you are looking for is a consistent color within the image, and this one is excellent.

There is a grade setting cloud? What is that? Can someone please explain?

Is this diamond still worth getting??

Thanks all for your input.

There is a grade setting cloud? What is that? Can someone please explain? It means the cloud is listed first on the AGS report because it is the inclusion most responsible for the SI1 clarity grade. A significant cloud can sometimes be dense enough to impact the brilliance because it breaks up light rays that pass through it--rare that this is the case, but prudent to check.

Is this diamond still worth getting?? As long as it is verfied eye-clean (already done) and that the cloud is not an issue, it is a beautiful stone.

Thanks all for your input.

And ditto Jet.

Just got off the phone with James Allen, and they confirmed that all the points you guys had identified as potential deal breakers were not an issue.

Looks like my money is as good as spent.

Thanks you to all who assisted me with my search for knowledge, diamond criteria, selection and my final decision to purchase!

As the saying goes....

IF
Diamonds are a girls best friend.......
THEN
Pricescope must be the best darn dog I have ever seen!

Congrats on finding the diamond!!!

Now there is just the little matter of the fee for PS assistance. That would be posting pictures of the finished ring once you receive it. We love to ogle rings and hear the proposal stories.
