Quality of AGS Certificate vs. GIA

Hi, I just went to Bailey Banks and Biddle and was discussing a diamond that I was thinking about purchasing online and having set by them. When I showed the salesperson the cert for the diamond she said, "Oh this is an AGS certificate...their grading is much less strict than GIA so this diamond is probably a color of I or J (cert says H) and a clarity of SI2 (cert says SI1). Is there any validity to what she was saying? Please let me know. Thanks!

Sounds to me like the salesperson was giving you false information, in an attempt to make a commission, talk you into one of their stones, in "bad mouthing" AGS.

Did they want to have you believe that AGS isn''t credible ? AGS provides far more detailed information than GIA does.
