and Q for those ladies whom are already engaged...did he propose with an E-ring of your dreams?

Uh oh.. DF must be out of questions for hangout if he''s bumming around LIW!

He''s just proving he''s up for a challenge! Gypsy threw down the gauntlet, but I know we can take him. *cracks knuckles*

And to answer, DF....since I have no idea what our budget will be in a few years when we''re actually ready, I don''t know what I''m waiting for. But I assure you, I have options for all budgets!

Great. Here come the "All LIW want 2cts!" comments.

He proposed with the stone of my dreams, in the setting that he bought because he didn''t have the time for my dream setting.

But I should get that dream setting by next week!

FF knows I''ll spit in his face if he proposes with anything that is not exactly 2.25 carats.

Hahahahahahahaahahahahahaa Elle!!!!!!!!!!!!

OH MAN. The bank manager might as well!!!!

Yanno what''s funny? The weekend following that fiasco, I went to a party for a friend. Apparently this friends was friends with a guy who happened to be working that day at that branch! He was a teller there that day.

What are the odds?

Well, I haven''t been following the story Elle and Freak are laughing about, but...

I''m hoping for about a .5 (maybe with a halo), but up to a .75 as a solitaire would be perfect too!

OMG!!!! That''s CRAZY!!!!!!!!!!!

(And if you really want the odds, I can have FI figure it out for you!)

Yes, he proposed with the e-ring of my dreams.

I don''t have any interest in becoming engaged. That said, if some guy showed up with an 8 ct. asscher we could sure talk about the concept

I like the way you think.

Looks like the LIW aren''t going to humor you, DF

at this point i really don''t care how big the ring is. as long as there is a ring and a proposal involved i will jump for freakin joy. i would love anything, but i hope i don''t get anything less than a carat. i dont wanna be shallow, but i want people to be able to see it and know that it is an e-ring. i wouldn''t be crazy for anything bigger than three or 4 either. lmao. i dont even know if that made sense.

sweetlilolme ...

I''ve noticed for a while that the first quotation mark has fallen off of your signature quote. i am *nal. i can''t stop noticing it. I think it may be time for some wine. Or ice cream.

Hi, DF! Whatcha doing here? Causing trouble again, I see.

Hmmmm . . . at this point I'd be good with a 14 carat or so. But then, again, I am already married. I guess it will have to be an upgrade! LOL!

I''m still waiting for my 6 carat cushion. DH gave me this little 2 ct as a placeholder, can''t WAIT to get the *real* rock on my hand.

deco,

thanks for the tip! i didn''t notice it before, whoops. yea i have a little case of OCD so it would have bothered me too!

I have a friend whose family is in the diamond business. His mom accidentally threw away her 5ct marquise diamond, and she got a nice 8ct pear to replace it. I''m not a big fan of the fancy shapes, but I''ve always thought 8 carats would be acceptable for my upgrade.

Oy! I would have gone nuts!

An 8 carat pear is good, though.

Don''t you know the e-ring is just a placeholder until you''re married and have access to all his money? Then you can buy yourself the ring you really want and he doesn''t need to be involved.

hahaha so true! The ering is really just a vehicle for an upgrade!

In all seriousness, FI proposed with the ring of my dreams...and reality too as I picked it out. It''s 1.05 center with around .5 total melee.

This thread makes me think of that time another bridal forum 'discovered' PS and took a bunch of these joking posts seriously... and thought the posters here were universally gold-digging wh***s

hehehe

DF: I so wanted (expected and deserved!) a 5ct blinger, but didn''t get one! The nerve of FI. Really, the audacity! It''s a wonder I said "yes."

We were looking at 1 carat stones, I was secretly hoping for 1.3 - 1.5
11.gif
however he blew me away with 2.42 carats.

Yesterday he told me that he wishes he went down one color grade to get 3 carats. No thank you! Very pretty, but I think people would be constantly be questioning if it was real and that would annoy me.

Funny how I wear my stainless steel "crap" wedding band more often than I wear my diamond bands
