Hi all,
As per most persons, I've found myself here after joining the 'diamond race'. I've read the threads, watched the videos (thanks 'Rhino') and tried to learn as much as I can. I've now reached the action stage, and am seeing if I'm on the right track.
Without giving too much away to the other half, I've narrowed down the setting style (3-stone antique halo) and diamond type (cushion).
Parameters
Clarity: VS2 or above
Colour: D - H
Carat: 1+
Budget: ~ $5K USD
Like others, I've been avoiding that overly 'crushed ice' look during my search. Here's what I've come up with (both within budget). I've obtained ASET images for both. To me, both look good visually/facet-style/ASET wise. However, it's likely I'm still along way off, so hopefully I can obtain some guidance.
Diamond 1
Dim: 5.77 x 5.72 x 3.98
Carat: 1.00
Color: F
Clarity: VVS2
Table: 60%
Depth: 69.6%
Diamond 2
Dim: 5.90 x 5.77 x 4.02
Carat: 1.01
Color: E
Clarity: VVS1
Table: 59%
Depth: 69.7%
Setting Ideas (TBC)
Thanks for your time!
