Hi All,

Fiancée and I are getting married next month!!!!

I found a wedding band I liked and wanted to get other people's opinions on it incase there's something I've missed when picking it (i.e., comfort level etc...)

Here it is:http://www.whiteflash.com/wedding-rings/mens-comfort-fit-wedding-band-with-spin-satin-finish-918.htm

I am going to get the 14K white gold.

Thanks!

I think that looks like a great band! Very nice style and Benchmark is a good brand.

I want to suggest a second band that you could wear at times you were afraid of damaging that one. It is very much like it and is actually the wedding band my son-in-law wears. It is made of tungsten and it is almost scratch-proof and much harder than gold.

Thanks for the response!

In that case, do you think there is a need to get the white gold one...perhaps I should just buy the tungsten one.

Will they look similar? I guess my question is, if the tungsten is so much cheaper, why get the WG one?

Thanks!

Some people want a precious metal for their wedding band. My son-in-law didn't really care so he got the tungsten one. Those cannot be sized, so if your size changes, you just get another one. So it really just depends on your preferences. The tungsten will look better after 20 years, but that is why I suggest getting the extra band if you go with the gold one in order to try and just wear it when it won't get scratched up. I will add that the tungsten one is comfort fit and very comfortable.

My hubby didn't care about getting a gold or plat wedding band. He's not into jewelry and wanted something that was inexpensive. Tungsten is a good alternative. There are also other metals/styles if your hubby likes other looks. I've ordered several bands from http://www.e-weddingbands.com and have been very happy with their quality and service. You can search the forum for more reviews as many PSers used this vendor.

Great to know!

I am not in the jewelry personally so I am fine wearing a Tungsten or anything else if it's more durable and less expensive. Any other metals I should look at?

I like these:

Maybe I should get 2?!?!?

Thanks for all the help!

As long as you're out looking and open to alternative metals, you might want to check out Bonne Rings. Lots of metal and style choices.

Also, we do have a "show me the bling" thread on men's rings that includes some really cool designs.

I wholeheartedly endorse Boone Rings as an option.

Bruce is great to work with, and answers emails VERY quickly. He can also customize what you need exactly to your liking.

I have purchased 2 rings from him (including my wedding band - I am a man), and the work has been excellent both times.

The metal used has no bearing on the size you need to order. You might want to get a slightly larger size if you're getting a wider band, or if you're planning to stack several rings together. Since this is a comfort fit band I think you'd be safe ordering your measured ring size, if you have any concerns it's probably best to check with a company rep - and to order a ring that can be returned if there is a problem.

Just placed my order :)
