Hi everybody, thoroughly enjoyed reading through the wealth of information on pricescope. I'm looking to buy an engagement ring for my bride to be in the next 2 weeks. I've currently got 3 stones on hold at james allen in order to have the idealscoped and compared for cleanness and brilliance.
1st stone (my personal fav. so far) - 0.70 carat H SI2 Excellent Cut, Polish, and Symmetry with no Fluorescence (also large diameter for its weight) - below I attached the reading from HCA on this stone, scored 1.2.
2nd stone - 0.70 carat I SI1 Excellent Cut, Polish, and Symmetry with Medium Blue Fluorescence - don't have the HCA saved unfortunately but I believe it scored a 1.7.
3rd stone - 0.75 carat J VS2 Excellent Cut, Polish and Symmetry with no Fluorescence - scored a 2.3 on the HCA.
If anybody can find any other stones with similar characteristics that I might be interested in I would be very appreciative.
However, until the reports come back from James Allen's gemologists my questions particularly pertain to the settings. Below are the links to my 3 favorites. The 1st is actually a bit out of my price range and I'm scared about how it will pair with a wedding band. What I would like to find out is which of these settings are your favorite and why? Or are there any other settings that you might suggest I look at. As you can tell from these 3 I definitely want some style of sidestones in the actual band. I'd also LOVE to see any actual pictures people have of these particular settings, with and without wedding bands. I've seen the pics of the recently purchased ones on the website but they are almost all identically positioned. Thanks so much ahead of time for all of your help.
