I did a lot of search and in the final phase of diamond purchasing. I do see a lot of online vendors, bluenile. JA, WF, B2C, DBL etc give discount on bank wire, not a lot(~3%), but every penny saving counts. Do you mind sharing with bank wire experience with these vendors?

Majorly safety issues, if bank wire works , i will try bank wire. a penny saving is also a saving.

I've done two bank wife's with whiteflash absolutely safe they received it I think the same day :)

Great. Thanks for sharing:)

My experience with GOG was perfect. Not a hitch, my diamond was perfect and I'd do it again in a flash with a trusted vendor.

I recently made purchases via wire and for me the considerations were not whether the routing/money would get there safely but rather that I was losing the customer protection and insurances offered by my credit card company.

If you wire money it is gone, poof!- so I only wanted to do business via wire with a company with a proven reputation and track record.

Certainly there are other caveats but for me that was the main factor.

Good luck and happy shopping!

Thanks a lot. Yes. I totally agree with this "If you wire money it is gone, poof!"

It is kind of scary if that happens.it is couple thousand $ business.

Does anyone have exerience with DBL or B2C?

One of those vendor's cust service told me this, (I am not sure because I haven't used bank wire before) but they say it is at a discount to compensate the fee that the bank charges us for sending bank wire.

I thought from BGD with Bank Wire. Ask long the vendor is reputable, has a stated refund return policy and a good reputation on the boards and on BBB, I would use bank wire.

And deviations or "promises" that are outside stated policies need to be in writing to and from a person with high enough authority in the organization to bind them.

In any other case? I would use a credit card with very good customer protections built in to their polices.

I Did a bank wire recently to BGD from Australia and it went super smoothly (first time ive done a international money transfer). In fact I think the money arrived faster to the US then what it does within Australia. I Have a few more purchases planned and I'm not worried about transferring the money anymore.

I've done bank wires with vendors such as GOG & B2C, and have had zero issues. I highly recommend a bank wire since you save around 3%. In addition, these highly reputable venders such as B2C, GOG, & JA have great 100% return policies. My recent purchase with B2C was excellent and I highly recommend them. It's also worth mentioning I originally purchased a stone with GOG and returned it for a 100% refund minus shipping costs. Hope this helps.

Thanks a lot for replies. sounds like bank wire is quite safe . I will use it to save some money:)

Also did my bank wire with GOG and it was easy, safe and flawless too.

I bank wired to ERD and it was safe. But, I have to admit since it didn't process same day I was sweating bullets. :silenced: The money took a couple or few days but it arrived safely without a hitch.

As a vendor I can tell you why we like Bank Transfers.

Zero risk of fraud.

Once that money is in our account, a bad person can not then again remove it. With a credit card we can not be assured the money is truly in our account for some months. Some cards will give your money back for any reason for up to a year. It seems that credit cards are set up to protect the consumer, not the vendor, even when the vendor has met his obligation for verifying addresses and delivering the product as promised.

And of course, there is rampant credit card fraud with stolen account numbers and just plain bad people.

On your side, you need to be VERY SURE that you trust the vendor you are working with, as, once the money is in the vendor's account, it is no longer yours unless the vendor returns it.

One nice thing about a community like PriceScope, if one of the vendors here were not to play nice with others, it would quickly become apparent and you would not see them here any more.
