Hello all, long time no see.

Well, my husband & I have decided to finally change the halo setting of my ring to an imitation Vatche Grace setting. However, we found a ring setting on eBay but I don't know if it's "suspect" or not. Would you purchase a ring from China that is a cushion halo, for a 1.02 ct RB diamond? The thing I'm worried about is that I don't know if the Round Brilliant will fit inside this setting, since it is already made? But the price is attractive LOL...then again it's from China & I'm not sure how reliable their 14k white gold is...

This is the one we are eyeing...

This one isn't from China I believe...but I'm unsure

Thoughts? Or should we just go with our local jeweler? I will post photos in a minute comparing my old setting with the new one that I took at the jeweler's...

I wouldn't try to do that. Plus, really that is not going to be good quality at $400+. Take a look at Gabriel and Co halos. They are nice quality at moderate prices. Much better to save for a nicer quality piece than regret getting poor quality.

Here are lots of halo settings:

Similar to Vatche Grace:

You may find a local jeweler who carries Gabriel and Co settings or Good Old Gold sells them.

To add to what PP said:

Setting 1. The quality of the melee looks awful. The halo has some dark and dull looking diamonds. The milgrain quality also looks poor.

Setting 2. Are you okay with having cubic zirconia's for the melee instead of diamonds? Also, if you were to remove the centre stone, it may damage the bezel. Again, the milgrain quality looks terrible.

Hopefully you'll get more responses and suggestions from others. What is your budget for stone and setting?

The pictures above are from our jeweler. The setting is $1900. I'm interested in recreating this look as well.image_3114.jpg

Any thoughts?

What's wrong with your old setting besides it being dirty? Why are you switching?

What is your budget? Gabriel and Co like diamondseeker posted has a big variety at reasonable prices.

I have wanted a lower setting for my center stone for awhile. It's mainly the setting I want to change....

Budget is between $1000-$3000.

Is Eternity by Yoni any good? Does anyone have any experience with it?
