Ok well thanks to quite a few members here I pulled the trigger for a diamond and setting from brian Gavin. Here is the link to the diamond chosen. Thank you very much to rockyracoon.

1.30 H VS2 - Strong Blue.

Ok so I am having it set into his Elle setting

Now it says in quite a few places on his website that bezel settings are not returnable. Now I have been assured that it is indeed an eyeclean piece. You can see from the pictures on the website an inclusion right in the table. If assured that it is eyeclean and it ends up not being so am I kind of out of luck? It doesn't seem that it would be fair that they would assure eye cleanliness and then not return based on the setting type if it wasn't what they said. I might be looking too far into it but spending this kind of money without having any ability for return is mildly concerning.

One other question. In searching around I didn't find consensus as to preferred method of payment? If I have the cash is there any reason not to do wire transfer?

Thanks in advance.

I always do wire transfer with respected, known vendors including BG. That stone is going to be eyeclean because that inclusion is going to be sooo tiny compared to the gigantic video on their webpage! However, people who check their stones with a loupe may or may not be bugged by an inclusion right in the center under the table. I am not sure anyone can help you with that, but I would urge you not to point it out to her! If she doesn't know it's there, she probably won't notice it. That is a gorgeous setting! I cannot wait to see the finished ring!

Hi Rundre-
ugh . . . um good question . . .I think bezel settings are non returnable bz to make the bezel fit around a stone it has to be custom fit for that stone.
Not to sure abt BG policy but if you don't think the stone is eye clean you could prob return the -stone- within the return period time but be out the 3k for the setting and that (in my world) is a substantial bit of money. The customer service person at BG would be the person to talk with abt on their return policies.

One other option would be to have the diamond set in something much less expensive and then get the stone reset into the bezel setting after you propose.

Payment, I bought a stone from another vendor well recommended here on Pricescope and did a wire transfer. I appreciated the discount. So unless you have a credit card w/ miles or points I think it's quite a safe way to pay.

OP - for me, I would want to inspect that diamond in person before committing to any setting, let alone a non-refundable bezel setting - honestly both inclusions are right in the table center - I just can't imagine I wouldn't be able to see them in normal view conditions - granted, my definition is eye-clean from 4" top and 6" side. But I defy anyone to show me anyone who receives a diamond ring and isn't going to be taking more than one very close look at it! In this situation, I'd suggest it is worth the shipping costs both way for you to check it out for yourself while it is still a loose diamond.
