Searching for a color lower then H on sites and clarity under VS2. I might be able to do it after all these posts of people w/ gorgeous diamonds from WF and GOG that are sometimes J in color and Si1 clarity.

I need to break these chains! lol

I used to be like you, until I realized that sometimes there''s no visual difference between a VS2 and an SI2. Now, I don''t mind going down in clarity to save some money, and get a bigger carat weight. The one thing I''m stuck on is going below H in color. I know there are some nice white I''s out there, but I''m too scared that I won''t be able to choose the right one.

I''ve noticed that people that buy the lower color ones from WF or GOG are THRILLED w/ their purchase. When I know my budget 100%, I am going to purchase from WF or GOG. They seem to be very honest in what they sell. I don''t think they''re gonna tell you "yes it''s white" when there really is some yellow in it.

i had the same reservations but yesterday i looked at a 1.0 carat hearts on fire and a 1.2 carat J SI1 under the loupe and they hardly looked different at all -- difference in price was over $8,000. they were both completely gorgeous to the unaided eye. you should go look at some diamonds in person and then see if you feel differently because i sure do!!!

Both are very honest with the representation of their stones but you need to assert your comfort levels to colour IRL. Have you gone to view some well cut H,I,J''s to see how they look to you?

I have and I viewd a "I" next to a "G" I think and I could immediately tell a huge difference. I don''t know if it was b/c I am sensitive to it or the cuts were just so diff. If I go w/ a RB, it will be ACA from wf, so I am not TOOO worried

I have an "I" stone from Whiteflash (one of their A Cut Above diamonds). In most light, all I see is sparkle, especialy if I view it from the top. But the yellow is very apparent to me at times, especially when I view it from the side in certain lighting. I guess I am one of those color-sensitive people. However, I've decided I can live with this, my stone is gorgeous, people say they are blinded by it, and I think I am the only one who notices the yellow (and even then, only sometimes). The stone was also within my budget. So overall, I am extremely satisfied. Yet -- there IS a definite, perceptible color difference to me.
