Some good news, for a change.
Our dear Uncle Sam will mail each US address up to 4 free COVID tests.
Reportedly the new tests have a longer shelf life.

SNIP from Associated Press:
"The U.S. government reopened its program on Thursday, allowing any household in the U.S. to order up to four at-home COVID nasal swab kits through the website, covidtests.gov. (AP Video: Mary Conlon)"

To order yours ... https://covidtests.gov/

Thanks Karl.

thanks, just ordered mine, I had one test left but it way past the expiration date.

Thanks Kenny! I needed one on Friday and paid $10 for it, so this was very timely and much appreciated!!

Thank you Kenny!

Thanks Kenny! It’s good to have a .gov link.

FYI, I just received mine, the listed expiration date on both boxes was 12/23/2023, which becomes 12/23/2024 per the extended expiration date on the FDA website ( https://www.fda.gov/medical-devices...al-devices/home-otc-covid-19-diagnostic-tests ).

So, these tests are good for just shy of 3 months. They're free, so yay, but I wish they would have been good for at least 6 months...

Same here. Mine expire 12/30/24. I hope I don't need to use 4 tests in the next three months!

In my region the schools have free COVID test kits at the door of the administrative offices. I’ve seen it in all grade level schools. So that’s a resource if you need test kits. They are always telling us to take some.

And FYI the expiration dates on the test strips are recent but the test kits are usable for a year after.
