I know there are a lot of PSers looking for oval diamonds these days. I hope the bidder isn't someone here.

http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=181322014478&ssPageName=ADME:X:RTQ:US:1123

I emailed the seller, thinking they accidentally attached the wrong report. This is their exact response:

"No there is no internal inclusion, look at the clarity report and u will see shadow red dots, it's not visible. The clarity is magnified by not having any fluorescence . Fluorescence makes it not as clear. There is none on this piece .the report is the evaluation ..internally flawless, there are no D thru F to the public. It's the finger print of the stone."

........... Whaaaaa?????!?????!!??

Anyway, don't fall for it. I feel sorry for the current bidder. Hope that person comes to his/her senses and bails!

That's not on Aussie Ebay by any chance is it? I have seen heaps of people here lately describing VS1 stones as flawless - just because they are eyeclean which seems to be the new halfwits definition of flawless does not make them actually flawless....

Unbelievable!

ETA: Thank your for posting this, FK!

I didn't think it was possible to fit that many lies in one paragraph. Impressive - every fragment is a lie on its own!

I don't even understand the general premise of that response. As I read it, I cocked my head at the computer like a confused schnauzer.

whaaaaaaaaaaaaaa?

Thanks for the fyi Fortekitty. It amazes me how many ebay sellers have 100% feedback when they clearly suck. Just goes to show you cannot only go by their ebay feedback. :knockout:

I wrote to the seller to tell her I was confused, and asked if that was the correct GIA report for that diamond.

Wow..
At least it's priced like a G, SI1. But yea, neither her description of "internally flawless", or her response to you make
any sense.

Maybe it's a language barrier?

edited to add: Can something like this be reported to Ebay? Since her description of "internally flawless" is clearly false.

People who aren't familiar with diamonds and head to ebay looking for deals will most likely get burnt.

...Eh?

I am impressed!
I'm also impressed that 'fluorescence' is spelt correctly

Best gibberish I've heard all week. And very entertaining.

There is something else that's a little weird. The one bid on the item? ...the bidder's history is that he/she has bid on 16 rings in 30 days or less.
Well, good entertainment on a snowy day. Now back to reality.

Oh my!

Sometimes I wonder if the only bidder is in fact the seller (under a different user name) in an effort to either attract other bids or drum up the price... or both. It seems when there is only one bid, the item gets relisted for various reasons...

The seller has that post-it note with "best color" in that one picture and it almost appears as if they mixed up the GIA scale thinking G color means internally flawless.

There is a report item button above the description off to the right side.

I've had a few more exchanges with the seller. He appears to not know a thing about diamonds... thinks that D-F is not available to the public so G is the highest the public can get. I politely linked him to Bluenile where the search yielded over 100+ colorless diamonds in the IF-VVS range. We'll see if it's too complicated for him to understand. My guess is that his jeweler told him all that crap and he believed it.

I think the bidder might be a reseller who didn't look at the pictures clearly. If they bid on 16 jewelry pieces in the past 30 days, they might be building inventory? The current price for a G IF is a pretty good deal, but it's above retail for G, SI1.

Yep, the majority of his previous items sold are related to baseball. It's pretty sad that he didn't take 10-15 minutes to read up on diamonds before putting something up for thousands of dollars! It's good that you pointed him in the right direction. Hopefully he revises his listing.

He didn't believe me at first. After I told him that I wasn't trying to be an ******* and explained the basics to him, he took it in to a jeweler and the jeweler agreed with what I said in my emails, so he reslisted it with the correct information. I'm glad he listened!

Glad to see he relisted the diamond. Will be interesting to see if that same person bids on it again (possibly he/she knew there was an error but still wanted it).

Time for that seller to turn off his/her computer and take some ESL classes.
