So after months of misery and countless doctor visits I'm finally going in for surgery this afternoon. I wasn't freaked out about it until this morning when I had to get up at 6 am to have a last meal of plain toast and black coffee (yuck and yuck!!), but I have to confess I have a (probably completely irrational) fear of being put under. :errrr: And to add to the magic of this whole thing, the doctor is definitely doing my meniscus, but he won't know if I'm getting a new ACL until he sees it, so I don't even know exactly what they're going to do to me today. Anyway, sorry for the me-centric post, but if anyone has any knee dust to spare it would be much appreciated! :wavey:

Dee*Jay - I just know you will get through this fine. I am sending lots of healing thoughts! I'm so glad you will finally get this resolved though so you aren't in pain any more!

Good luck dee :wavey: i hope it goes swimmingly, and your recovery is quick =)

prayers outgoing!!!

Dust for you & your surgery. Knee problems really are the pits! Here's to your excellent outcome & speedy recovery!

Dust on the way...

DUST!!!! You'll do great Dee! If you wear contacts, take your glasses- they will make you take your contacts out. And don't worry about being put under - one minute you're waiting to be put under, and the next you wake up and it's done. It's very strange. ((HUGS)) Good luck!

Thank you all very much -- I really appreciate it!

Bill is staying with me and he's promised me a GREAT meal as soon as I'm ready to eat, so I have that to look forward to. Well, that, and THIS:

I'm sure everything will go fine and you'll be enjoying that fine meal and torture device all very shortly!
Lots of ***healthy knee dust***!

Good luck Dee! I am wishing you a fast recovery!!!

Have you used the cpm before? (pic posted) My husband has used one several times and initially, it seemed a bit daunting, especially since we didn't know what to expect..but it really does seem to help.. he actually got to the point where he liked using it!

Lotsa knee dust.

PLEASE let me know if you need anything...

DUST!

You guys are so great! I am just ready for this damn thing to be over with already! Leaving my office in half an hour (but miraculously getting a lot done right now... ??? )

Siamese - I can only *hope* I get to the point of enjoying this thing, LOL!

JackieJAS - yes, I need you to bring your whole family over to my house to eat the soggy cheerios off the floor of my closet (strictly for comic relief, of course!).

Well, I did use the word "liked" loosely.. but, in the beginning, it can be a little easier than you or another person bending your leg... he is a bonafide veteran when it comes to knee surgery..well, a final good luck and more dust coming your way!

OK kids, off to the hospital!

Big {{{{{{HUGS}}}} DJay!!! Hoping the surgery goes well and that you have a speedy recovery!! Prayers outgoing!!! xxoo

DeeJay, sending lots of dust for a successful surgery and speedy recovery!!

Lots of knee *DUST* for you! Here's to a speedy recovery! :wavey:

Gown is on. IV is in. Now I wait...

Good luck! Surgery is always scary, especially on something important like a knee. (I've been putting off knee surgery for years now and can *totally* relate- the next time I dislocate my knee I've decided I'm gonna cave and get it fixed, four times dislocating it was plenty annoying.)

good luck DJ!!. .. :wavey:

Lots of luck and dust!!!!!!!!!!!!!

DJ, my strongest healing dust coming your way! Hope you've got some cute Docs. :naughty:

Comic relief. Dinner. Same thing. You and I can have something other than floor food.

Good luck! Thinking of you!

I hope all goes well for you today Dee Jay! Feel better soon!

Alive and at home!!! No ACL! Sitting on my own couch with juice and pain pills. Ah; life is good!

YAY!!! Glad you got to come home so quick! Keeping healing thoughts coming for you!

OMG how did I miss this earlier???? Ok, I can at least wish you the speediest of speedy recoveries, then. Our poor DeeJay!!!
