protocol for upgrades?

really just curious here. when customers ask for a diamond upgrade on their ering, do they trade in their original diamond, pay the difference for a larger or higher quality, get the upgraded diamond and then have the new diamond reset in the original ering? or do erings not accomodate new diamonds after being set already? hypothetically, a BGD diamond in a Leon Mege ring?

im not planning anytime soon, but curious after seeing so many upgrades on PS.

It depends Pannini, sometimes if the upgrade is much larger the setting won''t accomodate it, so either or depending.
