I went to a local jeweler to look at loose diamonds..I asked to see the diamonds i was looking at under the idealscope..she placed it on a black piece of boardtype thing and put the ideal scope face down on top of the diamond. I tiled my head down to look through it. When I looked through it I saw hearts and arrows but it wasn't reflecting the way I see it on some diamonds online...the brilliance didn't appear right alhtough it had great specs.....was I looking at it right?

oh the idealscope thing looked like it was from the 1800s

Sure it was an IdealScope and not just an H&A viewer??

Same question - let me find you a pic of an IS.

You can place it on a little light thingie with a little hole to hold it that Garry makes, or you can hold it with tweezers, but the light makes it much easier.

Great links! It is so much fun to play with an ideal scope and see the arrows!
