Prongs for a Radiant cut

Hello everyone--
I have read many of your posts and found so many of you with wonderful advice and knowledge. So, I need your help!! I just purchased a 2.0 carat vvs2 I color radiant diamond for my engagement ring. I absolutely love the diamond, but I am not happy with the mounting head. First off, yes, I am very picky. I wanted the diamond set as high as possible to give it a "presence" since I have a princess .50 channel set band on either side of my e ring. My diamond was mounted in a basket type setting, and I feel like all I see is metal!! I know this is not the case, but I am just not totally happy with it. Is is possible to do a standard prong setting? Do I have to stay with the basket setting? I have no clue how to post pics on here, but if I figure it out I will post some. Please give me your advice on what I can do with this. I like what I have, but I don''t LOVE what I have. I love the mounting I have, its just the prong basket head that I don''t like. Thanks for your advice.

Specs on this diamond are 7.75 x 6.96 x 5.52 Rectangle in shape, not square. Corners are not pointed, but angled to allow prongs on the corners. Diamond is deep--and I feel like half of it is being hidden by the basket mounting metal.

I would go with Leon Mege''s double claw prongs.

His settings are gorgeous and with his expertise, he would know how high, how thin or thick, etc. to make the setting to accentuate your diamond.

ETA: Do you have a pic so we can see exactly what you don't like and what you do like about your ring as it is?

That is a stunning ring. Could I do the claw prongs and keep my mounting? What type of mounting head would be best?
I wouldn''t mind wearing that Leon Mege while they fix my current ring!!! lol

Well, I seriously doubt he would alter your ring; you could ask to have certain elements a part of the new ring, but there are some things he would not do (for artistic or structural reasons). You could look through his gallery and see if there is anything similar to what you like about your ring, and things you would like different, and then request a quote.

ETA: I misread your post... I didn't read it as "while they" change your ring but read it as if you wanted Leon to change your ring. My bad lol.

Oh no problem. I was actually just browsing his site and I saw a really elegant classy simple square radiant cushion cut in a setting that I really liked. Really showed the sparkle of the stone. Kinda what I am looking for. Thanks for your help!!
