Hi
I need honest answers please I have a 1.5 carat halo setting. I originally purchased a prong setting and during the mounting the prong broke. The jewelry convinced me to do a bezel and insert the bezel after setting was made. I feel like it looks messy and makes my diamond look smaller. Any thoughts would it look better if I reset with prong setting I feel the bezel takes away from my diamond. Any opinions would be appreciated

I agree with your thoughts on this one. I don't like the way the bezel was done at all. Are you still within a return period? Can you have it remade, or better yet get your money back and start again with a different jeweler?

I agree that the bezel looks somewhat out of place in your setting. Did the jeweler in question make the setting, or did he put the stone into an existing setting? If the latter, he might just have been out of his league.

Could you post a side shot showing the ring in profile?

The bezel looks like it sticks up to high. Not to my liking. I would try to get it changed if you still can.

It looks like something that will continue to bother you. The bezel doesn't look as if it flows well with the setting. If you are in your return period then address the issues you are concerned about now rather than later. It is frustrating to start over, but even more so to look daily at something you aren't happy with from the very beginning.

Hi here is the side view of the ring. thanks

Bezel is too high as others have stated. It does interrupt the flow of the halo and the center. It annoy you as well so you should have it changed. It's ultimately your ring so you need to be happy with it and you're not. The jeweler needs to make it right somehow and make sure you're pleased with the final product.

It appears that you don't like the bezel, and in any event it wasn't what you originally wanted, so I would have it re-set with either single or double prongs to achieve the look you were after in the first place. As to how... I don't know what to tell you. Personally I wouldn't trust the jeweler who set this originally. If you have the option of returning this ring, recouping the cost of the setting, and starting fresh with another jeweler, that's the route I'd take. If not, you may have to see whether another jeweler would be willing to remove the bezel and replace it with prongs. Before you do anything else, you might want to take the ring as is to some trusted jewelers in your area and get their opinions about the possibility of converting the setting.

thanks for your advice
