Hi everyone,

I've recently bought a diamond that was certified by EGL-International: egl-report.jpg

I understand now that those reports are not accurate so I would really appreciate if you can give me a professional opinion about my diamond an if possible an estimate about how much it's really worth.

It's not well cut...you should be looking at Excellent/ideal cut stones.

Also helps to stick with GIA/AGS stones so the color/clarity is what is expected. If you can post your budget we can help you look.

Re: Professional opinion-EGL-International Certificated Diam

Are you still within the return period? If so, I would do so and start anew. Unfortunately, the actual grading could be so far off that who knows what the actual grading is, hence we are unable to give you any estimate as to how much it is really worth. The cut is also not particularly great. EGLI F S1 could be GIA I I1 or could be GIA K I3 or who knows. The only way is to have it checked out by an independent appraiser who matches it against a set of master stones and etc. However, if there is no return/refund option, then it might be best not to find out if you think this will affect your enjoyment of the diamond?

Unfortunately, I'm not within the return period. :(
Can you tell me please how bad the cut is? Is it still VG under GIA standards?
Btw, I noticed the many inclusions mentioned on the certificate but I couldn't find them on the diamond with the naked eye. is that possible?

Re: Professional opinion-EGL-International Certificated Diam

I don't know where it falls under the GIA cut grading system but 64% depth is very deep, with an HCA score of 4.5 where even not all GIA Ex diamonds fall under HCA 2.0.

Oh, I'm sorry...I was assuming it was still returnable. My bad. Can you take it back to the jeweler and tell them that you would
like to get something a little bigger/nicer ...it will cost you more money but would be worth it.

Edit ...here are the results from the HCA tool

Light Return Very Good
Fire Good
Scintillation Fair
Spread or diameter for weight Good

Total Visual Performance 4.5 - Good - Only if price is your main criterion

Normally we look for stones to fall under a score of 2.

Don't look good, big table, way too deep, plus an over graded report from EGL-I.
