I''m trying to figure out what song to have as the bridal party and family processional, and I would LOVE your input. I''m thinking something that might sound nice on a harp but isn''t extremely common.

To give you some background information, my processional will be the Beatles'' "Here Comes the Sun" (it was my mom''s processional at my parents'' wedding) played on a harp. Any thoughts?

I''m in the same boat as you. I''m having a harpist and I have no idea what songs to have. I do know that I want the "O" song from Cirque du Soleil as my processional.

I''m also having the same issues. I have a list of songs to choose from (classical, standards, broadway, latin) but I can''t figure out what to do for both the processional and recessional. I was thinking some pretty classical tune but who knows. The list is pretty short in my opinion as well.

I''m having a harp and flute player. I didn''t ask how flexible they were on adding anything new.

music was a tough one for us... we were married on the beach and only had an acoustic guitar - combined with the fact that neither one of us are overly traditional..

what we ended up picking was beautiful and perfect IMO, but not for everyone.

my DH parents walked to "flowers in the window" by travis.

the bridesmaids and groomsmen walked to "get by with a little help from my friends".

and my mom and i walked to "heartbeats" by jose gonzales - SUPER BEAUTIFUL SONG!!

hope that helps!

I''m in the same boat. I think I FINALLY picked a reccessional (don''t remember what it is though). But I''m totally at a loss for the processional. I''ll be checking in on this thread with interest.

oh sorry.. recessional song was oh... crap.. i can''t remember now....
that''s bad....

We''re using Jesu, Joy of Man''s Desiring (Bach) for the processional and Ode to Joy (Beethoven) for the recessional.

Wait, Jesu is what I''m walking down the aisle to. I didn''t even think to have a different piece for when my mom, my FMIL, and my sister (MOH) walk down the aisle. Uh oh. Hmmm, what about The Wedding Song (There is Love)? Ave Maria? I know those are really pretty, especially on the harp.

Our harpist is playing during the prelude (as guests are being seated before the ceremony). She''s playing Canon and Ave Maria, and she''s also going to put together an additional arrangement. Our DJ is doing the processional and the recessional.

Sorry that was such a long answer to your question!

I don''t have any ideas for you, but I wanted to say that we''re using all Beatles music for the processional and recessional!

I can''t remember what we chose for the bridal party, but I''ll be walking in to Blackbird. The music is by Trio Rococco, it is so incredibly beautiful. I can''t wait!

I LOVE Blackbird! I also love the Eva Cassidy songs mentioned.

I''m still at a loss, too! I have an extremely limited list from the harpist playing during our ceremony and I don''t have a clue what half of them are. I may just let him have at it himself! One less thing I''d have to worry about then, huh?

Our harpist is playing Ave Maria and Canon, and then she''s doign her own thing. I have no idea what she''ll choose and that''s fine with me. I know it will be pretty so it doesn''t matter what it is. As you said, it IS one less thing to worry about. I''m all for that.
