What''s considered a big or small table and am I right to think that a larger table has a larger spread? What can go wrong with a smaller or larger table? Can someone explain the table percentage (princess cut) to me in a very simple way?
Your question is difficult to answer. Considering just one measurement (table) and disregarding all other proportions will just lead to incorrect conclusions.
The table size is basically a result from the crown height and the crown angle. The lower the crown height with the same angle, the bigger the table. The steeper the angle with the same height, the bigger the table.
There are a lot of princess-cuts on the market with very big tables, and you are right, they tend to have a larger spread. But at the same time, their light return is generally mediocre, and with almost no crown, they have almost no potential of showing fire.
