Hey all...I''m brand new to this site but am very intrigued with diamonds - who isn''t right?

My boyfriend and I have located a stone which I think is great but am curious to how it would rate in the stores and rest of the world....

Here are the specs:

GIA Cert - 2/15/06
Shape & Cutting Style: Square Modified Brilliant
Carat Wt: 1.57
F Color
VS1
Measurements: 6.68 x 6.43 x 4.59

Finish:
Polish: Excellent
Symmetry: Very Good
No Flourescent
Depth: 71.4%
Table: 73%
Girdle: Medium/Slightly Thick

Anyone have any idea on what this would sell for?

We found it at the Jewelry Mart up in SF which, to my understanding, is the closest to wholesale that one would find diamonds.

Thanks for your help. Any comments or tips would be much appreciated!

I think something similar on James Allen or Bluenile would likely go for 12k. What price did they give you?

Use the Pricescope your diamond feature above. Stones in this size, color and clarity start at $9500 and go to $12K. What did they quote you?

I intentionally left it off just to see what you all would say....

We were quoted $10,925 which is supposedly 20% below the Rap numbers

So, good deal? Or can we find better?

Seem's appropriately priced. i.e., they're by no means giving it away, nor are they gouging you either. As to whether it's an ideal princess? Other's will have to answer. I'm not as knowledgeable on princess cuts.
