I'm a newbie looking at ering stones.
I am considering these 2 stones for a solitaire in white gold.
Stone 1.
Rect. Mod. Brilliant
.707 ct G SI1
Laser inscribed AGS# on girdle
AGS report:
Culet: pointed
Polish: excellent
Symmetry: Very good
Flour: Negligible
Table: 69.0%
Crown Angle: 44.5
Crown Height: 12.1%
Girdle: 1.3 to 5.3%
Pav Angle: 58.4
Pav Depth: 58.7%
Total Depth: 75.5%

Stone 2.
Sq. Mod. Brilliant
LEO cut, laser inscribed
0.7 ct F VVS2
IGI report:
Polish Good
Symmetry Good
Flour: None
This jeweler usually does not carry IGI diamonds but this was a trade-in they took. I am aware that IGI is typically optimistic in grades so I am not weighing decision on that. He also has a color set so I was able to observe it with those. He has Sarin and ran the tests for me.
Sarin report:
L/W 1.03
Total Depth: 80.7%
Table Size: 72.4%
Crown Height: 15.6%
Crown Angle:48.5
Girdle Thickness: 6.2 - 9.7%, ave 7.6%
Pav Height: 59.9%
Pav Angle: 39.3%

My target was ~$3k and time is of the essence (xmas). Ive seen the LEO twice and the rect. once. My vague memory is that the rect may have been more fiery.
These stones are at different jewelers so I cannot compare them side by side. I am most interested in no eye-visible inclusions (neither has them, to my eye) and fire.
The prices are considerably different as the first stone is $3700 and the LEO is just under $3k.
My primary concern at this point is that I've read that a thick girdle causes a stone to look smaller than its weight for ideal cut. How does total height affect this?
Also, what sort of differences are apparent between square and rectangle in fire? Does Leo cut affect that?
Finally, which of these 2 would you buy if you had to?

Thanks in advance for your timely and thoughtful comments.

do you have the AGS report number?

I would rule out the second stone because of the 80% depth. Ideal cut princesses are often deeper than non-ideals, but 80% is where I draw the line as too deep.
