Hi,
I am in the process of buying a 1 ct. Princess Cut Diamond and was wondering which of the two below settings you would recommend more:

1:
http://www.bluenile.com/diamond-ring-platinum-solitaire_3804?metal_filter=platinum&setting_filter=solitaire&set_shape=

2:
http://www.bluenile.com/diamond-ring-platinum_4504?metal_filter=platinum&setting_filter=solitaire&set_shape=

Specifically I was wondering:

Which would hold the diamond better?

Which would make the diamond look bigger?

Also, I heard that cathedral settings were harder to clean. Should I be taking this into consideration with the above options?

Which would hold the diamond better? I think the prongs are very similar, no difference in how they hold the diamond.

Which would make the diamond look bigger? Probably #1

Also, I heard that cathedral settings were harder to clean. Should I be taking this into consideration with the above options? Never heard that before... but i prefer #1 anyway, it''s prettier, and sits lower ;)

Personally I like option number 2 better! A 1 ct. princess will look gorgeous, and the extra height of the cathedral will make the stone look larger IMO.
Make sure you come back and post pics when it is done!

#2!! I have my .72 princess in a cathedral almost exactly like that and I love it! :)
