I was recently looking at princess cut diamonds at local jewelers, and they really are so nice but they seem to look smaller then like say a pear shape of the same carat wieght.
What do you all think?
Also I see that a princess with two smaller ones on the side is really expensive, is princess with trillions on the sides popular? I saw them and they seemed nice.
Thanks

Phil

I agree that they typically look smaller than a round of the same carat weight because they''re cut deeper, but aren''t they also typically less money as well? So you could probably get a bigger princess for the same price as a smaller round...I hope I made sense?

Why not a pear or marquize then ? Those "long" shapes work great to show size for weight.

And, yes, princess cuts with trillions are very popular indeed. Even large trillions (matching the side of the center stone) work nicely, and this shape is definitely much, much larger for weight than princess cuts.

How about using two large (actually long, is a better word) baguettes as sides? They will cover the finger nicely and definitely not compete for brilliance with the princess.

Just my 0.2, of course... Hope it helps.
