I''m really close to purchasing a princess diamond. I have observed the diamond a couple times in person and find it absolutely beautiful! Below are the specs. Based on the specs provided, my questions are: (1) Is there anything that jumps out that should be brought to my attention? (2)I''m still not very well educated on "ideal" pavilion and crown angles and the relationship between the two (based on their angles/measurements) - any feedback on the overall proportions would be very much appreciated.

GIA certified...

Shape = princess
Measurements = 5.78 x 5.77 x 4.01mm, L/W = 1:1
Weight = 1.09
Color = D
Clarity = SI1
Polish = Excellent
Symmetry = Excellent
Fluorescence = None
Girdle = Med
Cutlet = None
Depth % = 69.5%
Table % = 68%
Crown angle = 37.4
Crown % = 10.4%
Pavilion angle = 39.2
Pavilion depth = 56.7%

I have also obtained specs from the merchant using Firetrace to determine light results...
- Fire = ideal
- Brilliance = ideal
- Scintillation = ideal

I also plan to ask if they can provide a Sarin report and lightscope results.

Thanks so much.

can you get pictures?

This princess was graded by GIA, which does not grade cut of princesses diamonds.
Learning how to recognize a well-cut princess is much more complicated than recognizing well-cut rounds, in part because a princess cut has several pavilion angles.

AGS does grade the cut of princess cut diamonds.
I'd look for one that got AGS's highest cut rating, Zero!

Whiteflash.com (under their Princess ACA name) and Goodoldgold.com sells them.

Thanks for the update Mike, look forward to seeing them!

Hi Lorelei -

I was able to get a hard copy of the Sarin/light results. Please see the attached file. I realize it may be difficult to view the light results (based on colors), but hopefully this will help. I hope to get an Ideal Scope image as well.

Thanks again,
Mike

btw - i''ve negotiated down to $5250 for the stone - seems very reasonable to me.
