I appreciate your thoughts and suggestion on my engagement ring purchase for my gf.
She has her heart set on a princess cut diamond in a Ritani style pave setting. Although I've been shopping around for awhile now, my lack of knowledge about this subject puts me at a disadvantage when dealing with sellers at the stores i've visited; LA jewelry district, Robbins Bros, etc.
After some light reading on this forum, i've decided to purchase the stone separately, as I've also found a dealer who will custom make the setting.
My budget is ~2200 for the stone (preferrably .6 and above) and I'd really appreciate your help in getting a very good stone. I've already budgeted about $1000 for the setting, so $3200 is my max.
