Hi everyone,

I have a question in another post that may not get seen so I thought I'd create a new thread seeing as it can be useful for others as well.

My question is here: https://www.pricescope.com/community/threads/advice-on-radiant-sarin-aset-is-images.167200/#post-3046092#p3046092... Why are Princess of Hearts so much more expensive than radiants that have better colour and clarity, but for the same carat size?

Thanks everyone!

Kind regards,

noah35.

Hi noah.

Answer is simple.

One is cut for weight while one is cut for a very specific geometry at the expense of weight. The same decisions are made when cutting any piece of rough. A cutter can preserve weight and aim for the heavier stone (done in most cutting facilities) or the cutter can take an entirely different approach cutting for a very specific geometry but will sacrifice weight. This is one reason why (amongst others), for example, even if you are shopping round GIA Ex's you can and will find pricing all over the board.

Cut is the most important factor of a diamond. The radiant that you posted would have very poor light performance when compared to a princess of hearts simply said. I would go for the princess of hearts over a radiant any day of the week:)
Good Luck

With my amator eyes, princess of hearts are the most beautiful diamonds after OEC. Simply irresistible!
